How auto repair works at Wolford’s

Pre-Body Work

Free Estimate – Drop By Anytime

Customer comes in for a free estimate (no appointment needed). This is a 10-15 minute visit.

Document Damage & Prepare Estimate

Vehicle damage is documented with photos and estimate is prepared.

Verify Insurance or Payment Method

Gather insurance info and verify coverage, or determine alternative payment method.

Schedule Repair

Arrange Transportation

Make arrangements for rental or loaner cars, including the pickup and delivery of vehicles and rental car.

Confirm Parts In Stock

Ensure parts are in stock. Order if needed.

Body Work Prep

Vehicle Arrival

Car or truck comes in for disassembly and re-evaluation.

Pre-wash car

Tear down / Disassembly

Look for hidden damage. Update estimate if needed.

Body Repair

We repair your vehicle’s body. This can include using state-of-the-art equipment both to straighten and to measure the frame or unibody so that your vehicle meets precise factory specifications with laser accuracy. This step may also include wheel alignment.

Structural Reassembly

Vehicle is reassembled to ensure proper fit and finish.

Prep and paint

1. Prepare car for painting, including cleaning the areas to be painted.
2. Apply primer.
3. Apply water-based, environmentally friendly basecoat paint.
4. Apply clear top coat.

We use water-based, environmentally friendly paint for the basecoat. Water-based paints are just as good as solvent-borne paint, but do not release as many Volatile Organic Compouds (VOCs) into the air. Additional benefits may include fewer coats of paint, a faster paint job, and easier mixing. While some solvent is still used in waterborne paints, the amount is significantly less than in traditional car paints. (Note that on automobiles, the clear top-coat and the primer are not yet water-based.)
